My inspiration for this piece was to celebrate the diversity of life under the surface. There is something poetic about a place as expansive and harsh as the depths of the ocean yet it be home to an unfathomable amount of life. Growth can thrive even in the msot extreme circumstances. “Hold Me” is a piece that has a double meaning. The first is a literal meaning referring to the holding of a plant. The second meaning signifies the deeper meaning of the word, whereby the magic hands hold the plant in order for it to flourish and grow. It is a reminder to be held and hold nature close. “Magic Cycles” depicts a Sun and Moon sharing space. Each day these two cosmic beings engage in a celestial dance. The rise and fall of these celestial bodies is a magical cycle that reflects the natural rhythms of life. Plants like us are also mesmerized and entranced by the rhythms of these two ancient beings.
